Google continues to innovate to improve users’ time management. The company has finally announced the long-awaited Google Calendar task scheduling feature. You’ll no longer need to schedule “meetings with yourself” to create space in your calendar.
What will Google Calendar task scheduling do?
This new feature makes it easier to set aside time to focus on a specific task. Users simply create a new task and give it a name. Then, they select the amount of time they need for it. This will completely dedicate that time slot to that task on their calendar.
Paid subscriptions will be able to take advantage of this feature more extensively. Workspace and Education users will automatically turn on “Do Not Disturb” mode for the duration of a task. Meeting requests that fall during this time will also be automatically declined, completely eliminating the need to focus.
Google has begun rolling out this helpful update gradually. The feature became available to some users earlier this month. The company stated that the update will be available to all users by early December. This means you’ll only have to wait a short while to use your calendar more efficiently.
